Synopsis

Abducted and raped at her arranged marriage, Fatou returns to Paris three years later. In that time, she has tried to forget the past and devoted herself to her career. She has become a successfull hairdresser and is back in Paris to work at the fashion shows. But as soon as she arrives in the French capital, the past catches up with her. Unhealed wounds reopen? Rejecting any contact with men, Fatou is confronted with the damage caused to her own family. Her mother, humiliated, has left her father. Her father, devastated, has dropped out of sight of the close-knit Malian community. “Fatou” is the story of Fatou’s rebirth , which involves finding her father and bringing her parents back together. Her new life also means finding true love, desire and self-confidence?
