Synopsis
Coming to France from abroad, the Servan-Schreiber family left their mark on their adopted country as well as on their entire century. Through two world wars and a great depression, through various victories and defeats, political struggles and romantic intrigues, they managed to become not only an integral part of the French landscape but a significant factor in their country?s history. To make their way, to find their place and accede to power, they gave one another a helping hand. The family ambition passed from one generation to the next. And at last, when they had come so far and attained so much, they were so torn by internal dissensions that they risked losing all they had worked so hard to gain. This tumultuous history, encompassing the great upheavals of the 20th century, is told by the people who lived it.
