DAVID SHAHAR

David Shahar was born in Jerusalem in 1926, in the aera of the British Mandate over Palestine. He died in Paris in April 1997. He lived his life between these two cities : Jerusalem, with his roots, the hebrew culture he received and felt bound to transmit, the setting of nearly all his novels, and France, his second home where he came each year to write and to teach.
