At a time where terrorism is gaining ground, we found urgent to relate the career of Youssef Chahine. Out of the ordinary filmmaker, he has always resisted to pressures to create a very surprising work based on cultural interbreeding. From Cairo to Paris and New York, we followed him during the shooting of his last film « Alexandria / New York ». A title that shows well the two poles of the filmmaker?s life, the two passions that have formed his multiple and contradictory personality.
