Synopsis

On the occasion of the Night of Museums, “Aux arts citoyens” takes us to the discovery of unusual museums all over France. Guided by Daniel Schick, fascinated by art and very happy to transmit his passions  close to the great audience, we will discover ‘art places’, bearer of strong local identities. Places often rich of an history intimately linked to their region and which haven’t been ever inclined to become museum. In the course of visits we will meet those who make a living of them : curators, collectors, fascinateds of arts… Characters sometimes unexcepted, as Miloud Benbarka, an old textile workman who became an attentive keeper of museum of La Piscine at Roubaix, Guy Ferragu a fervent defender of his museum in Berry’s land, or Catherine Frot  came as a neighbour at museum Bourdelle in Paris. Each step of this journey shows us treasures that contains those museum and that Daniel Schick stages with complicity of his host. Siding with curiosity and entertainment, this documentary is an invitation to visit art galleries full of unsuspected richness,  some “small paradises” as Daniel Schick like to call them, placed  all over France.

A journey sets to music by the young composer Thomas Encho.
